Swimrun – block of 4

From the start of May and over the summer, we will be running weekly Thursday 6:15am swimrun sessions to get ready for swimruns, practice transitions, test out your equipment and keep fit. This is for a block of 4 sessions – there will be further dates available over summer, closer to the time (in case of any slippage due to bad weather).

From the start of May and over the summer, we will be running weekly Thursday 6:15am swimrun sessions to get ready for swimruns, practice transitions, test out your equipment and keep fit.

Swimrun is a fairly new sport where you complete a pre-defined course with multiple swim and run stages without stopping in between. You run in your wetsuit and swim in your running shoes (usually lightweight!).

These sessions will help you train, test kit and practice for your next swimrun event, or simply keep fit and have fun whilst swimming and running at the beach! They will include swim elements, run elements, drills and transition practice. The sessions are aimed at being inclusive so you can work at your own effort level. You must be able to swim at least 200m non-stop and be able to run 1km non-stop.

The sessions are organised into blocks of 4 sessions for £30, alternatively you can pay as you go £10 per session. We will meet at Southbourne Beach (near Sobo Beach/Southbourne Surf Life Saving Club Hut) for the sessions. In the case of severe weather, a session may be cancelled.
